I think he means DOS Prompt.

No teklords, I mean't DOT prompt. This old version of dBase III is a DOS program, yes but it was renowned for the fact that when you start the program the only thing you see on it's screen is a DOT and the cursor blinking next to it. Hence the phrase "DOT prompt". But don't worry, you have to be pretty damned old (like me) to know all this trivia! :)
